It just occured to me that they fired like 100 rockets at that strider in the HL2 E3 vids and it STILL didnt die!??
Are they indestructible???

Previews have said that they die from being shot with a shotgun, so no, I don't think they're indestructible. This has been discussed before.

How? You don't know what the Strider can resist, and where it needs to be hit...

No a shotgun fires a wide spray of pellets.... seeing as teh strider is really high up the accuracy and power of a shotgun on the 'hub' of the strider in the air would be less than a rocket imo.

But its legs reach all the way to the ground. That's how it walks, you see.

Don't call me a shit. I really don't like it when people call me that. How do you know that doing something like firing shotgun blasts at the joints in the Striders' legs won't cause it to collapse?

They never said if it has a vunareble spot or how much damage the strider had taken previously, the shotgun blast may have just been that last straw of damage.

Bcause Im sure valve would ahve wanted to demonstrate a strider falling over and the damage it causes to the surrounding area yet we have only seen him attacking the hub thing, so i doubt attacking the legs would do anything.

My thoughts exactly. There should be a new title below Headcrab called "Dead Horse Beater."

What if they require something from the environment to kill. Kind of like some of the "boss-like" creatures from HL1 that can't be killed with regular weapons but require something else.

Yup, this is pretty much going nowhere. Closed.
