Don't know if people have talked about this building yet:

Just wondering what you all think it is? Personally I believe its the same building we've previously seen but finished in all its shiny metal beauty.

That's the thing we've all been calling the "Combine Tower".

EDIT: Except for some of us, who think that it's the Combine itself.

I am pretty sure they were toying with different models of the Combine Tower. The last thing we need is some LOTR referance where there is 2 towers. In that pick I don't thing the tower had moving parts. The one we see in the E3 video has these big moving parts on it. The concept of a growing tower that's eats a city is better than a tower that is shiney.

So...If anything I bet that the tower in that pic is out of date.

Maybe the huge shiny tower is the Citadel, and the (possibly) smaller, moving towers are the so-far-unnamed towers that eat away at the city?

I think its more likely just an early concept. Since it made its way into some form of the game, likely something they all liked up to the point they saw it in there for real, then decided it just didn't quite fit and used one of the thrown away concepts instead, which eventually became the more familiar combine citadel we have now.

The citadel that is shown was from the teaser trailer before E3
The one that we all know is the one from the E3 vids (The one with the change in colour, and with moving parts)

I really like the E3 version of the citadel, it gives me the feeling that its alive, and has an evil presence on Earth

It's probably the old version of the combine tower.
Because in the video it's from (the pre-E3 trailer) Alyx had different older clothes too, and Tunnels was less finished.

Is that house with the curved turret the same one? If so, then it matches up, and shows that it was changed...

Ever considered that there may be more than one tower/base in the game?

My personal theory is that the silver tower is the HQ of a beautiful fairy queen that leads the forces of good against the on-marching combine.

Ok, judging by this screenshot.....

....I think it's safe to say that the citadel design has changed...(compare the buildings). Hope this helps.

I'd call that conclusive. the first one did look cool, but It wasn't very alien. It reminded me of a grain silo, and although it was a very freaky grain silo, that's not alien-ish. This new one reminds me of the 2001 monolith

i say its the ending level, and it collapses and everyone's computers will just die because the entire thing uses physics then it would really be GAME OVER

I swear i've read some where that the "combine tower" is "eating its way thru c17"

Yes it is. It's shown in the E3 video. There's a bottom section to the tower that works its way outwards, "eating" the city.
