Mod Logo design

Ok im completely undecided between which design i should use, I need some feedback. I know they look very similar, but im still undecided

They're practically identical, but I prefer #1 for some reason.

Heh its a lawsuit just waiting to happen.. I think there's an official game on its way with the new movie too so that could make things complicated for you

I like the cleaner look of the second.

I like the top one, as it has just ever so slightly more contrast, which, in a mostly black image, makes the lettering stand out more.

I think I like the second one a little better... but I'm not really sure.
You might want to make the "A HALF-LIFE 2 MOD..." text bolder/larger so it would be a little easier to read.

The top one looks more professional, but the text needs to be centered in both. Looking good!

Thanks for the feedback guys, im not really worried about lawsuits etc to be honest, its only a small mod and im not trying to make any money from it so i cant see how its different from any other movie mod out there (eg. the many matrix mods etc for hl2). Plus im not claiming ownership or copyright for the title of the mod, only for wat i create. I may still change the title to something similar though if i start to get any hassle of the big wigs.

I have decided to go for the top one for the moment.

I think the sharper, more harsh background (seems to fit the concept of the mod better) of the bottom one combined with the more contrasty text (easier to read is usually better) of the top one would be a good combination, if possible.

i prefer the bottom as it is dawn of the dead, and the bottomlooks more like spilled blood/ gore. the top looks too bright for a horror logo, personaly. But i would like it if the bottom one was more blurred, like the first.

I like the bottom slightly better cause its a bit crisper. What prog did you makt that with?

Photoshop :) You should put a light white horizontal fading 8px height line under the small text
