Ok, for our art homework we've been told to cut a face in half and draw the other half. We need to do one in pencil, one in biro, and one using anything we want. SO, for my 'anything I want' I chose photoshop... I hope my teacher doesn't mind that it's done on PC...

Constructive crits welcome. I'm totally new to drawing realistic faces in colour (hell, I'm new to drawing people altogther), and i've messed up some areas and the hand and chin needs work... let me know what you think.

Btw, the guy is David Draiman, from Disturbed

Thats a really good, first is it? attempt actually. I was nowhere near that when I was just starting out heh.. You've got the eye right IMO and thats the first thing you look at, nice one :)

If your teacher never said you couldn't use photoshop, then he/she shouldn't have a problem later, and if they do, just show them all the art on the net done in PC's and tell him/her to stop living in the past :)

Oh and even with the name I still don't have a clue who he is :p *hobbles off on his zimmerframe mumbling about kids in his yard*

Thanks for the speedy responses! :)

I started drawing people (pencil only) last month.. that's my first real attempt on a computer and in colour, and I'm really pleased with it. I always try to get the eye to look right, because a dodgy eye can ruin a whole picture

And if my art teacher doesn't like it, it still stays. He's an awful teacher, and he treats us like 5 yr olds... but i've got to give him credit for something! I've found out that if I do the opposite of what he says, it will look good.

Fenric, I dunno what kind of music you're into but check Disturbed out: www.disturbed1.com

They're ace

I had to look twice, because the first time I did not realize that it was half drawn.

Looks good man. The one recommendation I would have is to maybe have some more levels in the different tones. Also, his hand's shadows might need to be a little darker. Awesome for a first job though!

same here, I had to look twice cause I thought it was an ordinary picture :D, but then I notied it was a drawing because of the eye on the right :)

Definitely getting there, nose and hand still needs a bit more work though. Unless his nose is like that I dunno. Looking good though :)

His new eye seems a bit on the small side, compared to the real one. Other than that, I'd call it finished.

Yay, I've finally finished :D (I think..) I better stop working on it now because if I carry on correcting mistakes I'll end up scrapping it and starting again...

I tweaked the eye, his chin, and some other stuff
