Yay, I loved the first one. Press Release or some kind of statement that informs people about the fact that they are making this game, Finally in 3-D! (http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/latest_news.html) Too bad about Sam and Max II though. They cancelled the new Full Throttle game several months ago too.

To quote CGW (I think): "Maybe if we all saved up and bought Chris Sawyer a 3D card he'd learn to program for one." That pretty much sums up RCT for me--never really liked tycoon games (and hated the bad ones), and the graphics are bad enough to turn me away.

Now that blows. Those were going to be great--Freelance Police was looking excellent, and the 3D Adventure + Bike Combat of Full Throttle . . asses.

The graphics on this one seem to be a tad-bit better than the previous 2. Behold this screenshot (http://atari-media.com/screen640.php?tcode=RCT3&sys=consolepc&screen=4&bgcolor=000000&text=FFCC00).

Nope, doesn't look like he learned how to program for a 3D card yet. Oh well. :|

It'll be interesting if you can actually ride your roller coasters.

You can (http://atari-media.com/screen640.php?tcode=RCT3&sys=consolepc&screen=0&bgcolor=000000&text=FFCC00).
edit: Sim Theme Park's "coaster-cam" (http://pcmedia.ign.com/media/reviews/image/simthemepark038.jpg).

The graphics look decent enough, especially the water effects.

There are a lot of roller coaster simulators out there, but they couldn't recreate the roller coaster experience. Their graphics were terrible, this one looks decent. I'll have to follow this one.

Why don't you people have avatars? Is this the new fad?
Well RCT games, as well as the theme Park games, have always been mainly business sims/strategy games. But this one looks like it has a lot going for it, if you like this category of games in the first place.

The first one was the only micromanagement type game i ever liked, never even knew there was a second one though.

The second one used the exact same engine with the exact same graphics. It was basically a standalone expansion pack for the first game.

It was on the top 10 bestselling list for a while too I think. I bought it only because I never bought the first one or its expansions.
I was quite pleased with the game, using the original's aging engine, I didn't expect much. Though in the end it delivered an addicting and fun business building gameplay. Sim Theme Park had the colorful gameworld and 3-D visual appeal, but the Rollercoaster Tycoon games had the large ride selections, realism, and responsive economy that have been present in the best of the Tycoon genre it defined. This new third entry in the Rollercoaster Tycoon series looks like it will capture the high-points in both series. Too bad Bullfrog was closed down and couldn't provide any decent competition....

Yay! Rollercoaster tycoon is a great game. Been a while since i've played any of them now though. Looks like there's some nice improvement on this next one coming up though. Will be nice to see the final result :)

Whoopee! I thoroughly loved Rollercoaster Tycoon. It was truly one of those games where GRAPHICS DIDN'T MATTER.
Designing good coaster required ingenuity, some common sense of physics, and creativity. Its variation alone with scenery and theming stole half my life away back in the days. Bringing in simulation, micromanagement, and economics, it and its expansion packs have stayed in the top five (and ten) lists for over a year.
It is a good thing to see RCT finally see the 3-D treatment it so deserved.
HOLY CRAP look at those screenies, i love teh rc tycoon series il buy fo sho
