New steam release, entry in ClientGameInfo.vdf chagned to:

// Half-Life 2 Media
"11"
{
"media" "1"
"icon" "resource/games/icon_hl2_media"
"NoServers" "1" // there is no game to launch
}
}

Changing to "8" produced the following (ascii image :F)

() Dedicated Server

Media
------------
(hl²) Platform


Double clicking platform still gives "This game is currently unavailable".

Anyway, this is proof that steam now supports the media release, also proves that it'll be in games menu, and shows that it'll be under a "Media" entry.

btw, update news gives a 404.

Erm, whoever moved this, I posted it in teh general discussion area for a reason, since teh hl2 media release is not a steam issue, its a very egneral community issue.

Brett: you shouldnt see it yet, you have to manually edit a file to get it there, and when you do it doesnt do anything. so dont worry about it.
