How would you prefer Valve Software give us (the community) information regarding Half-Life 2 and CS- Condition Zero?

I would prefer them to give the community at least a status update on how things are going, instead of totally blocking us out on how the development is coming along since we still don't even have a Benchmark released to us yet.
