Riot Shield please?

A Riot Shield would be a perfect new melee weapon added to L4D 2. There is riot police and they are bulletproof, so just have riot shields laying around.

Abilities:
Can bash a group of zombies.
Can deflect Spitter globs.

Disadvantages:
Not able to use a gun as it's a melee item.
Back exposed.

It's a good idea, but a disadvantage should never be something that you have even without the weapon, as you can tell, your back is always exposed.

Corner camping?

Well your team would have to cover your back and it would be great during gauntlet events and panic events.

The spitter is supposed to stop corner camping, it seems a bit silly to give the player a way to imediately counteract it, and if you arnt using it for that, it would be a bit dull running round with a shield, when you could be using a weapon, I mean in the panic events, the one side of protection its gonna give you doesnt seem like much of a trade off for losing ur weapons.

Linking a weapon to the Riot Cops isnt a bad idea though, maybe a Baton, or maybe they could (rarely) be used to drop an item into the world, you kill one and he drops a Grenade or somthing like that.
