Gun to your head, absolutely earnest opinion. If you honestly can't think of a single band as your favorite, just imagine that you could only listen to one thing for the rest of your life. What would it be?

Mine is definitely CAKE.

I'm aware this thread has probably been done before.

Boards of Canada if I absolutely have to choose one artist to listen to for the rest of my life, gun to my head, and all that shit. Otherwise it'd be more.

Goddamn this is tough.

Right now it would be Flying Lotus, a decision I'm sure I would regret eventually. I guess Autechre for the sheer amount of material they've produced?

I don't have any one favourite artist for more than a few months at a time, but at the moment I'm really loving Pain of Salvation. Their music has an emotive quality to it that few others can match.

Impossible question. I'd let out over 100 artists and bands. But with a gun pointed at my temple I'd say The Stones.

It's a difficult question. Most of the bands I call my favourites I only listen to from time to time, as I tend to get bored with them after listening to them for a short while, due to overexposing. But the bands I listen to most at the moment are probably The Cure and The Jam, so I'd probably want to have one of them with me to a deserted island. This will for sure change within a couple of weeks, though.

Says who, officially?
I do.

I would pick TV on the Radio, but it's a moot point because I would rather die than have to choose just one band out of my favorites to listen to, I have way too deep a connection with and appreciation for the top 20 or so bands on my list (which are all more or less tied at first) and to live without the other 19 would make me super depressed :(

My musical taste still hasn't expanded far enough to really decide on an absolute favorite band.
But, a band that always finds itself onto my iPod whenever I wipe it clean is Smashing Pumpkins.

I grew up listening to them, basically.

its hard to narrow it down to one but i'd either say in terms of times listened to or how they might've affected me, either pink floyd, beatles or john lennon

Awesome choice. Baroque style kicks ass. But I'd personally move toward Brahms or some other Romantic composers.

Radiohead was my favourite for a very long time before that.

I was lucky enough to see them live together last year. It was an amazing show.

Saw the Grizz again last Wednesday, and it was incredible. Played tons of songs from Veckatimest.
