I probably should have rendered it differently so it didn't come out so small. But anyway, as always it is filmed from my house. Sorry for the shaky hands, hard to focus on something at max zoom.

It was because it was dusk and the sun hitting the exhaust plume and the cloudless sky was spectacular.

Love to see a launch with my own peepers, looks like quite a sight, witnessing man reaching up to the heavens, and all that represents and shit.
Wow that looked really cool. Where was this again?

Well, I live in a little town called Mims which is in Florida. The shuttle launches from Kennedy Space Center which is on the east coast of Florida. On the map below I am just North of the town called "Titusville."

Even better than that is not knowing when they return and hearing the super loud sonic boom, which I also happened to record a while back. It is a LOT louder than what you hear, loud enough that it set off a car alarm which you can't hear in the video. It even knocked a cup off a table outside. Sometimes when in class or in a building and you don't know about it at first sounds like a bomb went off.

Hmm- the 100th mission since the Challenger disaster. Interesting.

Awesome man. I nearly saw a launch when I was in Florida years ago - 2002 I think. We were with hundreds of people parked up on some grassy field waiting for it, when it got cancelled and postponed like 30 mins before lift-off. My flight home was the next day so I never got to see it. :(
