exce 360 controller? (hl2:deathmatch)

is exce 360 controller what i have to type into the console to enable the use of the wireless 360 controller?
i'm trying to use the contoller in HL2: deathmatch
but it doent seem to respond to that
wat am i doing wrong?

I don't think Half-Life 2: Deathmatch supports it, but newer Valve titles.
