Actually, 1 & 2 were a lot more at home on the PC, and I wouldn't call them arcade games. They weren't sims or anything, but they incorporated a few realistic elements. I'd go as far as to say the CoD games are pretty much solely responsible for the proliferation of iron sight aiming in FPS games now (whether you view that as a good thing or not).

Anyway, show me one 'moron console retard' who managed to complete one of the games on Veteran, and I'll show you... something equally unlikely.

Actually had a good bit of fun playing it for about half an hour. The gun sounds were mostly bad, and it's just CoD4:WW2editionlol, but still fun. It's certainly more violent, I noticed blood decals, legs being blown off and a spray of blood when I knifed someone.

It has lean, standard "E" and "Q" do it. I'm having a lot of fun with this, I have to say. I know it's just CoD4 with the WWII setting, but for some reason I'm really enjoying it. It feels really visceral and engaging sometimes. I jumped into a server and me and some other guys worked together to sneak up behind a tank and plant some satchel charges. As we watched the fireworks, we hid in the rubble of a nearby warehouse and picked off stragglers. High fives all around.

Performance has been identical to, or better than CoD4 for me.

Wow, they F'ed this up. Lots of bunny hoppers and lame one-shot kill sniper rifles around. Not to mention Juggernaut is absurdly overpowered again. I hit a guy in the chest with a tank shell...he survived. Not to mention dogs = useless.

There were bunny hoppers in all Cod games. Plus, id rather have 1 shot kill snipers than 2 shots. I know what you mean about juggernaut though, ****ing ludicrous.

I will not be wasting my money on another COD game. I very much have enjoyed the singleplayer portions of each one of the games. I Am,however, very disappointed with their multiplayer components.
COD 2 as well as COD 4.
It's not that i don't like the multiplayer mode itself, it's the constant grenade spamming barrages and the instant spawn killing that have stopped me from touching these games again. Nade spamming has been a problem since COD 2 and i can't understand how the developers failed to address this issue in COD 4. Then you got perks such as Martyrdom that shouldn't even be present in the first place.
Not to mention,Treyarch is developing this title. Thx, but no thx.

1) Same knife system. I absolutely hate that.

2) Spawning system is still f'ed up. In both COD4 and now COD5 if you kill someone they still spawn <20 feet away. I watched many killcams from a 2v1 yesterday and watched after i killed someone, they spawned already looking at me.

3) It is apparent the game is really a total conversion. There is still the EXACT same reloading bug. What happens is if you are watching someone on killcam reload with the same gun you are using, you will respawn doing the same animation. IE, if the guy i am watching on killcam is reloading his Thompson, i am respawning reloading my Thompson.

4) My analogy: It is a plain COD4 doughnut with WW2 glaze on it.

5) Recoil is virtually nonexistent on many of the guns. The STG44 has barely any. I think the wind moves the gun more than the recoil.

6) Juggernaut is still used.

7) Perks. Perks were fine in COD4 but just don't fit into WW2 with me.


Not worth the $50 or h/e much they sell it for.

briefly played the xbox 360 beta last week ..it was ok as mp games go ..lots of bugs. at one point I kept on getting shot but even with the death cam I couldnt figure out where they were killing me from ..til I fell through a hole in the map and saw 3 other players shooting people from under the map. I have a pc beta key dont think I'll bother; too busy with fable 2 and fallout 3 should be delivered soon

its a pre-release demo, they most likely will release a patch for the game when its released. they just did this so they can get the data, so in a way it is like a beta.

More of a rip off GoW2's Horde mode, but yes taking the zombie element from L4D.
