Pretty much how I feel about it, though I know he'll take an unusually large heap of shit for this one.

He gave it a bit of a beating, poor old eve.

I still rather enjoy it though, he should of joined a corp tho :)

EVE is everything I want out of an MMORPG, except that I can't play it. Seriously. In-depth games with pretty much limitless choices that looks good and is set in space= Double-plus **** yes, but it'd be nice if it was in any way inviting to play and not just constantly shouting "**** YOU! YOU CANNOT TAKE PART, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY! RETURN IN SIX MONTHS WHEN YOU ARE WORTHY!" except for the other fifty percent of the time when it's just confusing me or going way over my head.

I love watching his reviews, though sometimes I can't tell if he liked or disliked the game.

Accurate as always though. I think...

One of his best, but unlike other mmo's i can respect EVE online. A while back i read a crazy story about two friends who played for YEARS and one ended up ****ing over the other. He lost like 3 years worth of effort, it was devastating.

You can't really taste EVE Online in 14 days. Very superficial review.

If you can't get into an MMO after 14 days, then it is not worth the time and effort to go into it any further, imo.

Haven't watched this yet, but the free trial ended up being such a drag to play. After the shiny graphics wore off, just the thought of having to jump through 20 ****ing warp gates to get where I wanted was enough to put me off playing it ever again.

Man, I sink some serious time into some games, but that's the kind of commitment I reserve for girlfriends, not MMOs.

While I was impressed by EVE mainly because it's different than the normal MMO, it got tiresome rather quickly.

I started 7 months ago with this game, and i had a great start because a friend of mine who just quit gave me his lifetime savings of his ISK. If i wouldnt have gotten this money from him, i probably would of have quit within a week, but the money made me feel powerfull and i bought another month after the trail. I played a lot, joined a corp but after a while i noticed that all i really was doing was to show up for scheduled mining times and spend 3 hours just sitting there, just so the corp wouldnt kick me out. Then i thought "hey, im richer than all of these guys combined, what do i care?" so i left. However, being lonley in eve is like being lonely in real life. I began doing transportation missions while i was skilling myself to buy myself a Megathron just so i can get a bigger boner. At the same time i would buy the equiptment i needed and transported it to my own little hq. The lack of friends and exciting gameplay killed it for me. Although it was a GREAT stress reliever, it got me boored. I decided not to buy another month. I recently downloaded the 21 day demo on steam, and suprisingly i could still use my old account. So right now im not really playing, just training skills here and there and spend about 30 minutes a day on it, in which case, the game isnt that bad.

However, if you are going to be dedicated to this game, you might as well kill your family because they wont even exist in your life, the corp will be your parents, telling you what to do and when to do it. I ended up joining a less dedicated corp with more people, just to have someone to talk to while you play.

Stuff like that really put me off the game. I can appreciate the open world and the immense player interaction. But really, I'd want some kind of safety net so I don't get completely screwed over in events like this. Otherwise I'd probably cry and kill somebody.

EVE Online is purely a PvP game. You have to join a corp and leave empire space if you ever want to have fun. Missions were just a way to ease you into the game, but with the rise of "carebears" they had to make (and are still trying to make) non-PvP aspects of the game better. I enjoy the game because I can log on for a few hours, play for a bit, and log off. I don't need to grind 24/7 to get better, like in other MMORPGS. With that said, this game is not for everyone. If you don't like it, don't play it. The player base is 18+, most of them over 25 years old. We don't need more kids on there QQing all the time.

You will never get that ship (you can get it, but if your an EVE freak)! I tried it last year, and couldn't complete the first mission. I tried it again 2 months ago and died 5 times just to complete the first mission. It's lonely and just horrible. They put taxes on you with insurance, etc. If you die, there is a clone and you have to buy them, and you must level them up, and if you lose your ship, it's a devastating loss on the insurance you have. This game will eat you alive and is more in-depth than WOW. I won't play it because it's just too hard and lonely. This is the epic story and I mean these people really get into it: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=180867&site=pcg They have hitman, anything you want to be is in that game. You just have to get past the first mission.

Its fun when you have friends like Stigmata and Jimmy and Naudian and gangbanging the enemy pirate fleet with Howitzers, missiles and cannons.
Like
"SHIT Azner, where the hell are you, you caldari piece of shit, youre taking so long to get here"
*Stigmata and Naudian and Jimmy under fire*
*Azner pops out*
*Fires Missiles*
*Hits civilian ship*
*Concorde kills azner*
"What the hell*

True story.

Have no feelings about it as I've never played, but a friend who does showed me these mosaics a guy on the official forums made. PRETTY DAMN EPIC. Let the large version load fully for total epicness.

Now that's what I call a "brown" interface, Ravioli. Do people literally stare at those colors for years on end? Damn, no wonder I've never touch an MMORPG and never will. They make no sense whatsoever.

Nice review too.

It's stuff like that that make EVE sound cool, but really, Economic theft is not the most awesome of crimes.

Mind you, in a digital world, murder isn't either.

Yes but it is very costamizable (spell?), change color, transparance, brightness, place, anything that suits you. As for me, i really hate bright things (my monitor brightness is 0, and Contrast at 20) my eyes are super sensitive. Darker interfaces=win for me. Hell, even the stars in the game hurt my eyes.
