its not very good, i have the full version, uninspired battlefield clone for the most part, it has an interesting feel but not worth money

Large Scale Multi-player PC FPS #4572929.2b edition 3: Fuel of Battlefield Delta Operations Modern Warfare. My favorite!

What about the singleplayer?

It's fun, aside from the game STILL not loading everything in the load screen.
It f*cking loads shit AS you play the game making for incredibly stutter-filled performance.

I personally prefer it over BF2 though.

Played the game through on single player, pretty but not as pretty as COD4. It has a nice gimmicky edge where you can control remote controlled vehicles (helicopter, mini tank, explosive car, explosive orca things) which you can drive around in 3rd person. But this gets OLD very quickly and the game apart from that is your standard FPS and in my opinion a chore to play.

edit: By the way, if you get lots of stuttering, I found this was a common problem on the Frontlines forums, and it's resolved by turning the slider for 'foliage' OFF completely. (This applies if you have a good machine - max settings and something keeps making it freeze)

I got fed up real quick by the stuttering so I just uninstalled it. Might re-install now, since it was mildly entertaining. It doesn't seem in no way special though.

wow...this game has been out for almost 4 months now on pc. i played it when i got my 9600gt. its an excellent game, really fun if you like large battles with lots of weapons. i was able to max it out with no stuttering.

Why do all guns in the future have no barrels?

Just played a bit and it is damn fun.
The stuttering goes away after you load the entire map thankfully, so the stuttering only lasts me about 5 minutes then it's smooth sailing on medium/low settings at 1024x768 on my 7600BFG.

I've been thinking of getting this; will try. Will it run with an X800?

THis thread inspired me to try the demo.

And I have to say...

It's so refreshing to play a game that is more immersive than bf2 finally.

Best of all... No artillery strikes!

this game was rubbish on the 360, it got traded so damn fast.

In 45 minutes, I had more fun with this demo than all my BF2 playtime in the past six months.

Basically the same thing with me.

Meh, I'll give it a shot once my new comp gets up and running. But I was never hyped for this in the first place. Kinda prefer BF3 whenever it decides to come out...

Best of all... No artillery strikes!

Hehe, I used to have this exact same complaint. But after a while, it becomes pretty obvious where they're going to Arty...just listen to the blasts. Are you near a flag? Are there large amounts of friendlies in your area? If either of that is a yes, then GTFO.

Damn I didn't see the air strikes yet...

I still might have to pick this one up before it goes out of style, like Joint Operations.

Aye, Frontlines is good fun. Got it for the 360, don't play it much because I've got Bad Company to entertain me for now, but when I did use to play there was quite a lot to it that made it really great to play.

from the video, it looks like a copy of BF series, with a fresh coat of HUD

It was made from a mod team that did something for the 1942 BF game, so it's pretty influenced by it. Overall, though, it's leagues ahead of BF right now simply because it hasn't any of the things that make BF such an annoying game to play.

Played it and it's great fun. The only real downside for me is that it looks like a half-assed Gmod map on my computer.

the game itself is very unpolished, the maps are very bland.

besides that, decent fun.

Unstable framerate even though I play with all post-processing effects off. :(

Bland maps?! What the hell did you play?

Crumbled paper flying in the wind, toppled buildings, tons of choke points and flanking areas.
The maps are very open ended and quite detailed.

Not my thing, feels like a fisher price version of BF2. No matter how hard I try to take it seriously and do objectives I can't get over the sensation that it's a dumbed down version of every Battlefield game I've ever played. The guns feel weak and have bloated animations, the map(s)? felt too static and football-field like, and if the game had squads and voice comm support akin to BF2, I totally missed it.

Thinking of picking it up. There's a shop near me selling for half price and you don't see that deal come very often with a fairly new game so figured I might as we go get it and give it a shot.

Lucid

It has squads and voice comm, a little bit different from BF2, yeah... but it works well nonetheless, you can spawn on your squad leader and everything.
Animations could use some work, I agree... but they do the job well.
Guns feel fairly meaty and do a fair amount of damage, headshots are one hit kills respectively.
I don't really get what you mean by the maps though.

It doesn't really feel dumbed down at all, it's made by the same people who made the Desert Combat mod for BF1942 and they even have a few people that worked on BF2.

The only thing I can say that I didn't like is that you can't set the mouse sensitivity for each individual set of controls... so flying helicopters is a bit of a pain.

But, to each his own I guess, I just didn't like BF2 at all so maybe I can't make a fair comparison to it... but I did play the hell out of it and the demo... only with people from HL2.net and in squads.
If you don't play in a squad in BF2 it isn't fun at all.

In Frontlines, you can have fun playing lone wolf and playing in a squad... makes a world of difference for me.

Because no one plays MP on 360. trade it back and come play it with me :(
Seriously, there are 3 servers.

TheAntipop
10-07-2008, 07:18 PM
Theres loads of servers. :P I was playing last week on the Kaos servers when Boneyard was released. They have at least 20 to 30 of them in rotation, then theres hundreds of user-made servers.
