What's wrong with talking about the beta? I mean, it's some seriously irrelevant shit by now. At this point I can only see it as fertile ground for investigation and discussion for those of us who love the series. It's just a glimpse into Valve's development of the game, and I don't think they would feel all that betrayed if people peeked around in it. They've long since moved on with upward success and it's just a heavily incomplete build of HL2. It's not like torrenting a full copy of Crysis or anything.

Meh. It's not like Valve's going to press charges against one of their own fan communities for merely talking about an old, half-done build almost everybody knows about any way. Seems to me its been rendered inconsequential by this point.

That old plot was half-done in the Beta version , thus it is technically part of the Beta , in fact one could say that RTB is a very late press release. Well that and loads of cool concept art :).

Surely the press that Valve released themselves, the hydra illustrated above, for instance, should be ok. Similarly anything discussed in Raising the Bar that also appeared in the beta can't be restricted.

Anyways, I hope for something entirely new or the Icky, though it wouldn't make sense, because if you are fighting it in the water, chances are the freezing water would really hurt/kill Gordon when his head submerged.
