Portal: My theroy

Well, me and my brother were recently playing Portal and Half-Life2. And we thought of this theroy they could be true.

At the beggining of Half-Life2, when you get off the train there is a girl at the gate. She says are you the only ones on that train. Probably on your first time you played it you didnt go up and talk to her. SO go an talk to her and they will say that the combine took her husband away to for questioning.

Here is were my theroy kicks in

The combine must take him away for questioning for reasons unknown. He must be found guilty for the crime or whateva and they send him to Nova Prospect. Because the lady at the gate was his wife, they must take her for questioning and find out that that she was also involved. She is also taken to Nova Prospect. They make them wear that orange suit that convicts wear because they are convicts. Nova Prospect must become full and there is people with other worse crimes that have to go there. SO they have to send some of them somewhere else. The lady and the man are not sent away first, but they send some lady away. The convicts dont find out what the place is until they get sent there themselves. Soon it is time for the man to go. The place thy send them to is to Apature Science which had been abandoned for years because the creators went crazy and they built the crazy GLaDOS. Then they send the lady there. The lady turns out to be the main character that you be on portal. That explains why if you look at her through the reflection of a portal or from usng third person view, she is wearing the orange convict clothes. And the writing on the wall is from the other people that were sent their as convicts, including her husband.

your theory is incredibly far-fetched and there are several problems with it anyway. Orange suit that convicts wear? Where is this information told to us? Built the crazy Glados? No, that's not how it happened at all.

You need to learn more about the backstory of both games before you make theories like this.

Also keep in mind HL2 was in development and completed long before ANYONE heard of Portal.

So your connection theory is impossible to begin with, let alone abundant in logical problems and stretches.

It's not really logic, and it doesn't make sense. Sure, you've drawn some parallels, but that's it. And Valve did not write Portal into the Half Life story line until Portal began development.

There is no chance that your theory is correct or true because, one: it is not logical, and two: the Combine would ship them to an augmentation facility for processing and augmentation or have them killed rather than having them kept jailed for a prolonged period of time, and especially in a facility which the Combine themselves do not have control of.

My theroy:


The Combine are in league with the Yakuza, those sneaky devils. In order to fully raise the funds needed to feed noodles to every single one of their henchman, the Yakuza struck a deal with the alien invaders. However, in return, the Yakuza was required to build a school in which they would teach all of the Combine young 'uns. A school needs teachers, so canvassing began to hire suitable instructors. Volunteers were...lacking, and so they took it unto themselves to 'borrow' citizens from the various cities around the world - hence the woman's issing husband.

In this school students were taught many important subjects, most notably culinary classes and studies in quantum physics. Students could relax with their over-sized building blocks, or entertain themselves on their personal computers, running the newest Windows Operating System - GLAD. This system was also responsible for various background systems of the school, such as air conditioning, security, heating, etc.

Now, this school had its share of troublemakers, the largest of which was named Godron Fraamen. Now, the reason this young man was such a scoundrel was his inability to hold basic cooking skills. Naturally, he began to vent his frustrations throughout the school in the form of graffiti. Fearing that the security cameras throughout the school had captured footage of him committing these heinous deeds, he uploaded his greatest creation into the school mainframe - an AI controlled virus. However, the situation veered off the beaten trail, and the virus plunged the school into a state of emergency. All the Yakuza personnel were stuffed into small sentry robots for their protection, and the virus began to release tear gas to drive the children into simple portals that had been the main source of research the school had been developing for the Combine.

And so the story begins...lololololol



Now, my story holds just as much legitimacy, and is just as possible. However, both are entirely ridiculous, and while I commend you for sharing it with us, it really isn't needed.

And it is here where you say once again your "theroy" is correct , even though it is pretty subtle , anyone with half a brain could see what you mean.

Also the combine have nothing to do with apreture , Nova Prospect is not as big as you make it out to be , Apreture is BIGGER than Nova Prospect and therfore cannot be inside it. And the two factions style are no where near similar to each other , the combine build monolithic structures (the citadel) and Apreture labs show a sleek and smooth hi-tech approach which is almost opposite to the combines dirty, monolithic , industrial look.
