At the moment. I refuse to hype myself about games until about a week or two before their release now.

My anticipation will rise as more material is released. It is higher currently than Episode One, because I wasn't even aware it was released, but not as high as it ever was for Episode Two, because I was quite hyped just before its release.

However, I can image nearer the time, the hype will increase to that above my anticipation for Episode Two.

At this stage I don't give a shit about any game that has even a remote connection with Valve and is not close to release. I'll get interested the moment they give the exact date and hyped when the preload begins.

Not much anticipation right now, as it's the infamous after-release period, and it'll take some time for Valve to develop the game far enough to have something to share. I'm thinking of doing the same thing I did with Ep1, not watching any trailers or other media, and then being awesomely surprised and amazed when it's released.

Very low. The thing is, you know its on its way and want to play it when it's here, but with no specific date to look towards, and no media, there's nothing to really work the hype up. Episode Two offered a particular finality to the proceedings, perhaps better even than Episode One or Half-Life 2 before it.

You know, the more I think about it, what with Valve saying they'll take their time, the promise that Ep3 will have loads of new content and the nice tying up of the present series in the Orange Box, it really wouldn't surprise me if Half-Life 2: Episode Three became Half-Life 3.

a lot, I recently (like within the last year) played through the sections of HL2, and I wasn't very motivated to play through it, I just heard it was a good game. Now, that I have knowledges that I didn't have previously, I'm stoked, I can't wait to see what Valve does with the combine invasion story ending.

I would far prefer that valve focus on perfecting the game rather than realising trailers. Yes it wouldn't hurt, but I want the game as quick as possible, not a few shots of the game in a movie.

I am anticipating it, but not to the levels I was when we were nearing episode two release date. Nevertheless, I think it may well be the most revealing/kickass HL game so far.

Gabe said they will stop with making HL-games when they cant make it better than its predecessor (this was also the reason why they chosen for episodic releases). So any new release must be better. Though ep1 wasn't that much of an improvement almost everyone agreed ep2 was the best hl part so far. If they can make ep3 even better than 2 it would be really awesome. I have a feeling they also want to make it a little bit longer and they told me by mail it will (probably) finally get an extra hard mode

HL2 was at the peak of awsome though, EP2 was definately the best episode but HL2 will always be the king. What Im getting at is, if they did a HL3, in episodes or whatever, then as long as the make it the same sort of scale as it predecessors then Valve shouldnt have to worry about its quality and shouldnt have to worry about making it better.

I only got into HL2 when The Orange Box came out, so your poll options are very unintuitive.

As it happens, I don't really care about Ep3. I'm more excited by Left 4 Dead, but I'm sure that will change the second Valve throw us a trailer.
