Sniper Rifle?

So we got a taste of the combine sniper rifle in Ep. 2. And for me, I really wanted to hold it and cradle that little bundle of joy. Did you want to?

And can you see the sniper rifle included as a weapon for your own use in Ep. 3?

We already have the crossbow, but having a mounted bit where you assist Alyx (the reverse of that bit in Episode One) would be nice and break up monotony (if there is any monotony is Episode Three).

Even the crossbow!?

In Opposing Force the sniper rifle was what I preferred the most, after the spore launcher. I jumped for joy whenever I found more ammo.

But I do agree that its a bit cliche, but then so is the crowbar if you think about it. Can't they replace it? I used the crowbar twice in episode two, for those 2 planks we break after the elevator breaks, 1st chapter.

And that last slot is still empty!

I am glad that the Sniper Rifle seems to be a stationary, mounted weapon. Mobile sniper rifles are boring in FPS's, TBH.

I'm split, it seems like a really good weapon but it just wouldnt fit into a modern HL game.

Crossbow is good enough, sniper might be cool as a mounted weapon though.
