That is what I heard as well--a fix for multiplayer freezes or some such. Maybe I won't even notice any issues if I do this before I jump on the multiplayer. Good news!

So where is the 360 freeze fix? I can't play the game anymore without it freezing, and the first person says that it is because of my box, go shoot yourself in the face.

I hope the 360 patch comes out soon. I don't get any freezes but I can't play multiplayer with Shamrock, and that makes me sad :(

So apparently the 360's drive is the cause of all the freezes. If you have the BenQ drive (picture here (http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/Xbox_360_DVD_Drive_Comparison.htm), then you are more than likely having freezing problems and texture loading problems.

I can't play more than 15 minutes of GTA4 anymore. I took out the HDD, I disconnected from the internet, I switched via VGA to Component, and I was able to play Rock Band for more than 2 hours yesterday.

Weird. I haven't heard of anybody on 360's really freezing up in GTA IV. I've heard most of the problems are with the 60gb PS3's.

If you Google BenQ and GTA4, you'll likely find some posts from users about how that drive is affecting the game and people's playing.

They are, but that doesn't stop them from still causing problems. Out of all of my friends, I'm the only one with the BenQ drive, and I'm the only one getting freezes.

Heh. I'm one hundred percent sure I can't get a replacement drive. Legalities come into question here. Let's just say instead of sending MS $140 to replace my RROD'd 360, I had Wal-Mart unknowingly do it for free.

I'm sure there will be a patch or something for the 360 sooner or later. I can wait. I don't know how, but I think I played that game so much in its first week, that I can wait whilst a patch is conjured up.
