went to AMERICA this weekend ..stopped at a gamestop and as I walked in the clerk said "Can I help you with something?" and I said "not unless you're willing to break street date on GTA4" he said "sure bro" then tossed me a copy and we did a high five ..in reality he looked at me not knowing how to take it and said "no we cant do that" so then I kneed hiim the balls and ran off with a display copy ..actually he said "no we cant do that ...but we're having a midnight release tommorrow ..the line up starts at ten, there's a few preoder ocpies left ....would you like to pre-order" and I said "no thanks, I'm canadian ..we dont have xboxes in canada" ...he looked at me puzzled and went back to stacking games .. further cementing the idea that gamestop employees are actually humourless zombies


why the hell hasnt anyone broken the street date yet? stern is very disappointed

Anyways, stores like Gamestop are the last places that are willing to break street dates. I've found that it's best to exploit the apathy or ignorance towards street dates found in stores like Sears and Target.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA, and there is one mall in the city that has a EB games and a Gamestop in the same mall. Gamestop is one level below EB games. So you don't have to go to AMERICA, to go to Gamestop.

Well, if you went to NYC then you could have found one in a little electronics and cell phone store by Madison Square Garden. They get loads of stuff early and break street dates like they are going out of style. Too bad for you if you missed the city this time!!

My plan is to pay it of completely on my way home tonight (around 6.30) and then go back a little after 11 to get in line or do whatever I have to get my copy quick at midnight. The store is small though so I expect it to be an annoying, sweaty, smelly madhouse. Not really looking forward to it except that the game will be so much fun once I get it home!!

Hehe, i tried a few stores myself out of desperation.I saw Sears listing it as available, so i hoped into the car and drove 7 miles for nothing.I canceled my Newegg pre-order but i finally managed to reserve a copy at my local Best Buy in the end.They have a midnight release available as well but i'll be too ****ing tired by the end of the day.Tomorrow, will be a very enjoyable day though. :)
