I'm actually interested, not so much in the game but if they try to add anything original to the title. Sims 2 was just an updated Sims, maybe this will be something a little different?
Quite excited for this, Sims 2 was fun. :)

The sims 2... I got really addicted to watching sims music videos and stuff on youtube. But they were deceptive, it made me think I could have emotional sim relationships that were intriguing and made me feel sad and attached to the little people... but no.
Those little shits wanted nothing but to eat constantly, piss constantly, exercise constantly, kiss constantly, play constantly and sleep constantly.
IT BECAME STRESSFUL! SO I LOCKED THEM UP INTO A SMALL ROOM WITH ONE TREADMILL, A SHIT LOAD OF FOOD, AND NOTHING ELSE.
They were then allowed to eat, piss, exercise, kiss, and hopefully play and sleep constantly.
But no... they wanted to die instead.

The best way to play the sims is to make a bunch of different celebrities or fictional characters, put them all together in one big house and watch them. You don't "play" the sims, you build and create, then watch. :)
At least that's what I do...

Cool.
Could be good if what I've heard about it being more open-world is true. I loved the Sims for about a week and then got sick of it. Same with the Sims 2. I actually tried starting it up again today with all of my friend's expansions, started making the Freeman family with Gordon, Barney, Alyx, D.O.G... then I got sidetracked and just played Half-Life some more.

Yes, because your male sims would reach adulthood and join the army and your women would be working in the factory all day for the war effort.
Features include nightime electrical lockdowns, building bomb shelters, raising your kids only for them to be sent off to the countryside and such leisurely activities as rounding up the local Japanese, Italian and German ethnic groups into internment camps.

Apparently there's an unlockable in the new expansion where in the producer of the Sims 3 drops by and gives you a PC game that has some footage of the new game. Here's the youtube of it. Could be bullshit, but looks genuine to me. If I unlock the unlockable anytime soon I'll try and confirm:-

Seems to tie in with what little has been seen, and I'd say the characters look a lot more advanced that those in Sims 3. Separate clothing items rather than skins seems to be one thing for sure. With free time they introduced proper 3D jewelry, so it's not a great leap of imagination to assume we'll be seeing a lot more of that sort of thing. One thing I'd like to see is a degree of height adjustment for Sims. I realize that probably makes animations a pain, but it would add to the look of the game considerably.

You don't see the genius in simlish?
1) Less development costs. They don't need to write one script for each language they do, they just have one jibberish script and they bring in a few people and in a few days it's all done.
2) Part of the same, but you also don't have to add subtitles for the deaf gamers out there, because it's simlish, so why does it matter?
3) The beauty is that you decide the words which they are saying. They give hints as to what they might be saying by their animation and tone, but it's you who puts it together to decipher the action. Subtle, but adds a nice touch.
Just imagine if they were like "I'm hungry!" every few mins, or you heard the same english lines over and over and over... Since it's simlish and they vary it up every now and then you don't get as pissed off as knowing what they're saying every 5 mins.
Oh, and I got my GFW mag today. Anyone care for details? You have PCGUK scans above so it really doesn't matter though.
Raziaar
13-03-2008, 09:32 AM
I understand why it's there. I just don't like it. :-P
And trust me... I know it'd be hellishly expensive and take up a lot of disk space, but I could create an extensive list of phrases to be used to indicate the need to eat, so much so that none of it would get boring and repetitive to you. LOL

The only thing I ask of the Sims3 is that when the Bladder meter maxs out, there's the random possibility the Sim will shite him/herself rather than wiz on the floor. You know, have green fumes emanating from his/her buttocks. Also, a more advanced A.I. that's smart enough to acknowledge the fact the Sim shitted him/herself and makes fun of them for it rather than just saying, "Pheew!" while plugging their noses. Therefore ruining any possible chance for that Sim to have a decent social life if such a social structure is in place in this new title that is.
I'm so devilishly mean to my Sims aren't I? :cheese:

One thing I would like to see(and it's already been mentioned in this thread), is the ability for sims to physically beat up one another. To get into serious fights that could be fatal.
It would add such a whole new dimension to the world... Where teens can beat each other up... and if like a home owner gets in a fight with a burglar, it could prove fatal for one, the other or both if it gets a chance to escalate far enough or if they're in a place that facilitates such an event, like the kitchen with knives.
Also, domestic violence. Physical child abuse and Spousal abuse.
I think it'd be awesome if my sim could see this one sim guy totally wailing on his wife... and my sim comes to the rescue and beats the shit out of the male sim, and like some sort of drama movie my sim and the chick hook up after their plot to kill the abusive boyfriend/husband goes through.
That sort of content would be so interesting.

With the freetime I've noticed the Sims have a few more idle animations now as a resultant of thinking about hobbies etc. Have to say I like some of the new features in Freetime, esp the secondary personality options.

I'm just wondering how they are going to incorporate the aging aspect if there's potentially no downtime. Still I'm interested to see the overall direction they are going in. The personality stuff sounds pretty good, and that they are getting away from the showering/shitting routine is long overdue.

lol, one time me and my brother made a house of crack-heads, they were all wierd looking and dirty and everything, they had one bed, with chairs around it, the parents would be ****ing while the 3 kids just sat there and watched, they had a stove and couch on the lawn, it was hilarious.
Then one day I made a serious character, little did we know that the cracks (that was their last name - the cracks) actually stayed in the neighborhood (we thought we'd deleted them), so here comes the dad with an afro, undershirt, and jeans on (he was a white guy), walking down the street, then he goes and LOOKS IN MY GARBAGE CAN. I nearly died laughing, I even got it on video!
A virtual crack-head went through my virtual garbage can! They're everywhere!
