IMO the last good sonic game was "Sonic and Knuckles" on the genesis. But then when sonic went into 3D he began to die. First there was talking sonic then there was sonic in the real world then there was "eggman" bleh. Of course there was shadow the worst of all, and shadow continued to ruin sonic because he used guns and vehicles. Im saying they need make sonic classic again I mean Running thorugh Green hill zone and getting rings and chaos emeralds and fighting Dr. Robotnik (no eggman!) doing all this while running so fast you pass the ingame camera.

It's true that there have been good and bad Sonic games, but what does that have to do with the character itself? Also, Sonic Adventure and the Sonics for the DS were great.

The problem with Sonic is there are so many damn story lines it's hard to come up with a new one that doesn't resemble an old one in some way or fashion. I don't see anything wrong with 3d sonic games as long as they are designed for speed runs. Such was the case with Sonic Heroes afaik and that worked nicely enough for me. Sonic himself as a character is great so there's no reason to be angry about his introduction into Brawl.

I hate to be one of those lame-o wannabe Japanese fanboy kids that call a Genesis a Megadrive, but I can't honestly see why you think Robotnik is a better name. The orginal name was and always has been Eggman since the first Sonic game in 1991, it was just changed for some stupid reason in the US. So gtfo with this Robotnik business becuase thats the dumbest name I've ever heard, (I even feel stupid saying it).

And even though I do agree with everything else you said, except for the fact that Sonic Adventure was actually pretty awesome but thats about where it ends with the 3D games, I don't see why Sonic being in Smash Bros. is "Epic Fail" as you say.

I have to agree, Sonic hasn't had a decent game in years and years (he DS versions were utter poo imo and not a patch on the 2d originals). I'm still looking forward to Smash Bros, though - if only to smear his stupid face all over the arena :)

That character select screen is a fake, guys. Although I'm pretty sure that the screen does actually look like that, or very similar, the extra characters are definitely fake. It's very simple, actually. Know why? All of the new, unannounced character portraits use official game artwork or renders, whereas the portraits for already-announced characters use their Brawl incarnations. It's completely inconsistent and clearly the work of some Photoshop kid. A good edit, but in no way convincing.

The supposed "Megaman" looks more like an Earthbound character. His name doesn't even look like it says "Mega". As Sea said, it's probably a fake. Many of the portraits look hand-drawn and K Rool's looks quite pixelated.

It doesn't. At all. Saw a thread somewhere else showing what looked to be the actual screen and denounced this screen. If the other one isn't a fake then it looks like oldschool SSB menu. More black.

All the menus posted on the Dojo are cream-white with pale colours, though. The hand cursor is the same, too. There are some old shaky-cam gameplay videos from a few months ago that show it off briefly (I think they were on IGN).
