Started a little something earlier today in PS, and I figured it might be worth posting what I've got down so far. I'm thinking of doing a bustling city up in the clouds or something. But I s'pose I don't want to cover up the clouds too much, I've spent far too long faffing about there. :o

Anyhoo, any comments, suggestions and whatnot would be rather nice.

That's really, really, REALLY ****ing scary to me.

Goes without saying that it's well done so far.

I like it, it's a good idea with the city, but don't go NYC here, your right, the cloud is one of the great parts, the way its colored and such, although the tower could be a bit bigger itself. Keep up the good work.

When I saw it I imagined some sort of airship rising out of the clouds

The clouds give the impression of distance, but theres no atmospheric distance inbetween the viewer and the tower ... It's kinda conflicting.

Also, if it's a huge tower in the distance, can't it have something going on at the top?

Clouds look well good  Reminds me a bit of that Gorillaz video which is nay bad thing - I like the ambience and loneliness of it's presence, so I wouldn't know if I would like it as much with a few more structures in it, but then I do love cities...

Bespin. :D

Cheers for the comments people. :) I see what you mean Pobz, although I dunneh know how to fix it. The tower is suppose to be in the distance as well, although the more I look at it, it looks more like a pylon or something. Maybe I'll just attach random buildings to it to flesh it out and see what happens.

Bespin. :D

Agreed lol :D. That was probably my first thought when I started thinking about doing a city up in the clouds.

So without further adieu: My Star Wars-esque Bespin rip-off:

I'll think I'm gonna try and keep the buildings sparse though.

joke. It looks like the tallest radio tower. Me thinks it looks awesome.

add some clouds in the front, to give it a sense of depth, and loose the rubble / ships. Maby trying some color difference in the clouds would help, just a thought.
Keep it up

cheers

It's perfect as it is.

Kill it, and I kill you.

Oh, but you could make it slightly grainy. Do something with the edges...

Perhaps a subtle hint of bustling activity down below? A layer of ships in the distance around the base of the tower?

Nice work.

How is progress so far? I'm quite intrigued.

Shit, those birds are flying pretty high.

Progress is basically non-existant as usual. :p

I've just fiddled with the contrast and sketched out a couple o' bits. I just seem to have a real issue with keeping any interest in anything I start.

But yeah, this is as far as I got with it. With any luck I might try and carry on with it tomorrow.
