For being due out in a couple of months, it still looks really clunky going by this footage. The UI also leaves me unimpressed. I still have hope however. At least there are other MMOs coming up if this one fails.

I'm definitely not seeing any revolutionary fighting...

what do you mean by "clunky"? the animation is clunky (not polished) or it's laggy?
TCfromBN: it's more evolutionary ..the biggest difference being that you dont lock your targets then hit keys, you have to actually swing at your opponent, you can miss if not facing your target

Wasn't this game supposed to have ragdolls? I pretty distincly remember a preview saying it did.

You have collision detection, is that what you mean?
The video is actually from an older build of the engine apparently. The newer one is supposed to be less "clunky" but not 100% bug free for a big demonstration yet.
And the players in that video didn't use many combos...

no. ragdolls would be a kiss of death for a MMO ..too many things going on to bother with something that's really not neccesary
you can see when the player uses a combo when a yellow segment of the pie (round(ish) thing in the UI) lights up

By clunky I mean I animations could use a bit of refinement (yes, I'm very picky about fluidity). Also, look at how long it takes the enemies sitting around the fire to engage the player when he attacks a guy near them. It takes them about 5 seconds to stand up. One of the guys keeps sitting and standing.
Now, this may seem like nitpicking, but one of the things I look for in a MMO is immersion.

Well there should be a new video out soonish with the new engine. I'll reserve judgement.
I agree that that video isn't great, but that may simply be due to it being a bad video of a good game, rather than a good video of a bad game.

immersion in a mmo? the "find 10 clover leafs/kill 10 clover leafs" quest types are immersive?
I get what you're saying but as someone mentioned it's an older build

Immersion via visuals, gameplay, story.. the things that will keep me playing the game for a while.

the visuals are immersive ..gameplay is rarely immersive in any game ..story remains to be seen but it sounds good so far

I'll take your word for it. Do you know if they plan on having an open beta? I signed up for the closed long ago but to no avail.

For people wanting to know about AoC -this- (http://www.massively.com/2007/12/14/age-of-conan-product-developer-interview-with-gameplay-video/) is probably the single best interview I can recommend.
