View Full Version : Know what would make Steam a little better?

I just started adding non-steam games to the list. Two things would make steam a tad cooler.
1) Record what games you're playing and for how long, like XFire
2) Let you make categories to sort your games so the list looks a bit better. Fav / non fav is sort of meh.

Would make it a tad more intuitive

well it does show your time playing non-steam games on your total playtime for the 2 weeks. i would like to see it by different non steam games though.

Doesn't show it on mine, oddly.

I'd like to see steam do a lot of things. one of them being yahoo, aim, and msn plugins for steam friends. I wanna play my games and be able to talk to my buddies who dont play games at the same time.

That was something I thought of earlier. I was like, urgh, don't want to have to minimize TF2 just to continue this conversation.
Then people get mad at me for not responding.

I see your point, but that would introduce a hell of security vulnerabilities, since those networks - and their respective protocols - are not owned by Valve.

if trillian can do it so can valve i would assume.
an offline version of steam (not the mode where you go offline) but an actual online version that say, when you download it- you put you username and stuff and what games you want on it and then you can put the download wizard on a disk or USB drive or something.

It's not that old, but it also means it's easier to rob Valve.

If you have your games and your account on a Ram stick, what's to stop you copying it over to another ram stick and selling them?

Just imagining:
Shortcut - Updating...
I have two computers so i never have to alt+tab out of my game to chat anyway but i still think that would be much more efficient. and i have been wanting steam to record the total amount of game play (like xfire) for so long. I'd be a bit worried just to see how much gaming I've done though =/
