So i have looked around the net for a decent Crysis Mapping community but their either dead or the people just dont have the terrible qualities i love that you guys have. So why not make our own thread? I have a feeling that crysis is looked down upon here, but thats not what this thread is about, this is purely about mapping and modding, and is TOTALY unrelated to the game.
Im learning the basics so far and this is what ive managed to do
(youtube ****t the quality over bigtime)

Sexy, I've been playing with it aswell, coming up with some designs and custom content anyway.
Have you tried changing the config for the editor and running it on ultra high settings, it's ridiculously good looking. I need to upgrade my rig in January to play it on ultra high at some decent framerates me thinks. And just one Example of the kindof results you can get..

I'd say before you start mapping play around with the settings using this walkthrough: http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=11614&p=1

Once the SDK is officially released, I'm going to start work on a mod. I love Cryengine 2, and there is so much you can do with it.

I'm working on mapping a bit. I'll make a video later on.
I agree with Sedako, Cryengine 2 is really amazing.

wow, thanks for the tip on the tweak guide Clarky!
Worked more on my map, about to make a video. But does anyone know how record in the editor? It doesnt work for me. Or any other optional recorder would be good that doesnt make the quality shit on youtube.

Maybe Fraps or GameCam?
The quality on YouTube no matter what is going to be shit. It scales down the video for you. Perhaps go to MSN Soapbox or something?
In February they are adding higher definition videos on there (not full HD, but better quality than whats on there now)

Does any recorder have sound to go with it?

Used Fraps again, but without audio so i added music.
Updated verison, there is one scene from the earlier vid so you can just skip that if you want. Added 2 roads through the jungle, small village, field in the jungle, and the classical hill with the tree ontop-scene :)

yea but for some reason it destroys the audio. In dirt and in crysis, the audio just comes out to be weird noises and scramblings and high pitch sounds. Makes my ears bleed

I'm planning on building a new PC for christmas...hoping to get into Crysis mapping. I really want to make some maps that are stunt oriented, hotwheels style stuff with lots of jumps and shit.
