The stats/rpg element and frantic combat don't quite gel, too easy on normal setting, and the setting charatcers don't live up to KOTOR, apparently. I'm not too fussed - it still looks good to me :)

Oh, they slammed the Witcher and Hellgate, giving them a 5 and 6 respectively.

Yay, another ten. :D I can understand the lower score for Mass Effect. Some people just may not be into the role-playing elements, something that gamers might not be aware of upon buying the game if they've just looked at screenshots and seen the combat stuff. Plus, the technical issues are things that I know I have a lot of trouble overlooking. It just doesn't quite come off as polished as other, simpler games. Then again, Oblivion had a million and one bugs on release and nobody seemed to mind at the time.

Though honestly I doubt the game will win Game of the Year from most publications. Mass Effect and BioShock, despite being new IPs, both have too much star power at this point to overcome.
