there is no menu at all in smod. smod is a hl2 modification that adds a crapload of weapons,new abilities,and gameplay.

If you want to install Smod, drop the Smod folder in your Steam folder:

The menu in the video is for Garry's Mod aka GMod and only GMod, it can be accessed while playing GMod regardless of the map.

GMod 10 can be bought through Steam. (http://steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=game&AppId=4000)
GMod 9 is a Mod which you should be able to download after a quick Google.

If you can run Half-Life 2 or SMOD you will be able to play GMOD, given that you said you were playing SMOD before you should be fine.

No, but you're not running GMod with 384 megs of RAM. I have a gig, and it crashes on me all the time with out of memory errors. So don't bother.

The space on your hard drive isn't memory. Buy a graphics card, it'd be worth it. And buy some more memory. It could be your memory that's playing up, or the settings in it which aren't supported by your system.

Until it crashes. We know what we're talking about. I ran it on 512 and it was fine for about 5 minutes, so I upgraded. (Then GMod became pay-to-play and, quite frankly, I couldn't pay, so meh.)
