Was wondering if we've got any closet Saxon fans in the house? They were never as successful as some of the other Heavy Metal bands of their era but I think they definitely fall under the "guilty pleasure" heading.

They played a secret gig in my city... amid rumours that it was the Cure that was playing...
The rumours were shattered when Saxon was seen in Spar :p

lol this thread scared the crap out of me cause my names Saxon ... and there too harsh for me, but i got the album as a joke
Even the name makes me lol now... I used to be into the Heavy Metal scene in the early '80's and Saxon were one of the most popular 'nougat' groups around in the UK next to ACDC, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead etc. Thankfully I grew out of that particular phase.
Saw them at the Cornwall Colisseum I think in '82 or '83 when they were at their peak, I remember Biff shining a spotlight on the crowd to see who had the biggest tits. It was such a hilariously crap concert that it was great, looking back at those long-haired pot-fuelled days brings a tear to my eye.
In much the same way conjunctivitis would.

it was all good till the hair glam poseurs started ruining everything ...metal was supposed to be denim and leather not spandex and hairspray!!! /shakes fist at motley crue
I love twisted sister for much of the same reasons you liked saxon ..i also saw them open up for Maiden during the power slave tour ..they were kinda awesome in a cheesy sort of way
Twisted Sister! now there's a blast from the past. First knew about them when me and my greasy friends would sit watching a Kerrang compilation of music videos over and over cos that's the only video we had, it was the one with the dinner table scene at the beginning and the stereotypical squared away dad breaking the son's balls all the time.
A Twisted Sister PIN? On your UNIFORM???
Cheese-tastic
