The Mars Volta have revealed details of their forthcoming studio album.

'The Bedlam In Goliath' is due out on January 29, 2008 in the US, and features 12 tracks.

The follow-up to 2006's 'Amputechture' was produced by guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and again includes contributions from Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante.

The tracklisting is:

'Aberinkula'
'Metatron'
'Ilyena'
'Wax Simulacra'
'Goliath'
'Tourniquet Man'
'Cavalettas'
'Agadez'
'Askepios'
'Ouroboros'
'Soothsayer'
'Conjugal Burns'

Meanwhile, the band have announced a one-off show at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on New Year's Eve, for which costumes are required.

Awesome news. I'm hoping that it's going to be more like De-Loused... because of the number of tracks this one looks to have as opposed to the two later albums, Frances the Mute and Amputechture. They are both fantastic albums but theres only so much random distorted guitar ****ery I can take, and it grains on the patience after a while. Either way, I love 'em so I'm eagerly awaiting this.

Buy it? :P

If so, I'm with this guy. Even though I've already bought all 3 to date (but wasn't much for the last 2, save a few tracks).

Agreed, Deloused was genius but the rest have been a bit too masturbatory for my tastes.
