UK have access to TF2 Beta?

After reading the news Valve were releasing a BETA on Monday 17th for all pre-purchases of Orange Box I thought I MUST pre order mine.

However, it seems the Beta is only for those who are pre-purchasing the Orange Box via Steam. I was going to pre-order mine through Play.com, but then this wouldnt give me access to the beta.....

So can I (as a UK gamer) pre-purchase the Orange Box from Steam for $45 (which is about £25) and still get access tot he Beta?

Yes, location is almost always irrelivent on steam. If they are doing geographical releases, they tend to announce it.

Yeah it will cause i have preordered the orange box and it's let me preload TF2

Does anyone know what time the beta will be released on Monday? I have TF2 preloaded on Steam..I don't want to stay up to midnight monday morning only to find that valve's gonna release it at like 5 pm their time or something

No one knows when it will be released, try emailing and ask them.

They'll probably make another announcement Friday-ish.

It's very simple. Pre-order on Steam and that's it, you'll get the beta version of TF2. From play you'll be buying a box/retail version so it's completely different. Also you won't receive it till launch day.

The launch of Orange box (or when Gabe presses the button on Steam) will probably be midnight or some other significant time in Seattle in the States. So it'll be early morning in the UK and later morning for the rest of Europe. That's the way they've played it with the Half-life 2 and Episode 1 launch.
