Oook. Am I right in understanding if you buy a UK retail copy of Bioshock now it will install/activate and play now? What time does the Steam version unlock?

Steam unlocks 9pm tomorrow night Munro. I mean 9pm!!! I'll have to take my lappy down the pub! :cheese:

I'm so annoyed it isn't a 12am unlock, hence me asking whether I can buy it in London tonight.

Incidentally, I've seen a few posts from Play.com buyers who got it today, so I suppose it can be activated immediately.

If the retail copy can be activated after midnight tonight I'll pop down to Tesco to buy it.

Good luck. I just phoned my local Tesco (large store, does games, 24 hours) and when I made it clear than the game is released tomorrow I was told that the person who deals with games wouldn't be in until 7am, and they wouldn't be able to tell me if they had the title until then.

They're just lazy on the phone. Go down there, they'll have a non-food manager on duty who'll just nip out back. They're all still boxed but they should open it up for you and let you buy one after midnight.

I've just noticed the clock has changed - It is now 5pm tomorrow I think. Most odd.

Bollocks. Went down to Tesco as was promised a PC copy and found there to be only Xbox 360. Joy. I guess I have to wait until 5pm.

my local shop is just 5mins away. going to buy it in few mins after my launch :) hehehe

Just bought it from Game, can't activate it. Bollocks. Waiting for them to email me an unlock code or something...

Well, it is now released and at 5.01pm I started steam, and it subsequently crashed! lol

The game is now available according to the store, but it still says unavailable in my list of games.

EDIT: Just crashed 3 times in a row, something about x-trees :(
