Windows Vista Home
Intel Core2 Duo T7300@2.00GHz
2 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS (163.44 Drivers)

Bioshock runs pretty choppy with my system (15-25 FPS) making it incredibly difficult to aim during firefights, so I was wondering if there was a way to have the game run in DX9. I'm hoping that this will result in higher FPS so I can really enjoy the game.

Okay, I figured it out on my own. If you're wondering how to do it, simply add this to the command line:

-dx9

In order to do that, right-click on Bioshock in your Steam game directory, then click on properties. Then click on the "Set Launch Properties..." button and add the line mentioned above into the dialog box and press Ok.

I only got a 10 fps increase in doing this, but I think it was worth it. Happy gaming.

isnt there an option in game for dx10???Option says DX10 detail surfaces. But I bet it would still run in DX10 without the -dx9 flag.
