Wow, that video got me hyped for this game!

I was already excited for it, but the talk of the improved framerate and the harkening back to old-school sci-fi of the 80s made me respect this title a lot more actually. Hopefully those f*cking Falcons will be out in the wild by then....

Yep, this was the one that got me going. I was particularly impressed by the voice acting, it felt like I was watching an actual movie. Really happy that I own an X360 right now ^^
Science Fiction from the '70s and '80s? I saw no Nostromo or Death Star in there, looks more like Babylon 5 to me - 90's cheap and tacky Sci-fi TV serials. I like the character editor though, but not convinced by the daft bint who compares the characters to Oblivion's... they look normal? er no, they look like thumb headed, square jawed all American TV sci-fi soap stars.
All they need is a Forehead Lump slider and voila, instant aliens.

These videos are having a mass effect in my pants, tbh.

Thing is CR0M is they're supposed to look like a square jawed all american TV sci-fi star. It's the image they're going for.
I really think it looks fantastic, better than Saints row, which I think was very good.

The mouth movement of that blue alien girls was horrible, the human was decent, and that bounty hunter ancient dude was excellent.

better than Saints row
Err... yeah.
Well, at the very least, we can hope the dialogue is a little more inspiring >_>

I'm very, very picky about voice acting and this game seems to get close to the sweet spot. Not perfect, but very acceptable.

I'm very, very, very picky about voice acting and for me it doesn't quite make the grade.
I wasn't convinced about the character creation either. Endless options about what to do to the PC's face doesn't really interest me, since I spend hardly any of the game looking at it.
The combat interface did look nice though, so I'm warming to the FPS sections a bit more (although I hope that anti-grav spell doesn't turn out to be as much of a spammy cheese technique as it seems). I guess this video kind of broke even for me.

Does Laivasse mean anything, because when I read that name it always sounds to me like some kind of custard.

It kills me that this isn't for PC.

It never meant anything...until now! Look for Laivasse on supermarket shelves near you soon.

It's a microsoft game so it's almost a certainty that they will port it across to PC as well (esp as it's written for 360) at some point, though I expect that they might make it a Vista exclusive like Halo 2. I must admit if any game was likely to make we want a 360 this is probably it.
As for the video, I'd say it's not perfect, but the only better facial stuff out there already is the Source engine. It pisses all over Oblivion from a great height, and it's character creation system seems far more nuanced. I can't say I've yet seen a decent looking character created using the Oblivion interface, everyone just looks like they stuck their head in a beehive for an hour. :dozey:
