It's a shame IMO, whilst Ubisoft isnt a perfect dev, they are still superior to EA imo, it'd be a shame if they become a part of EA.. The best thing would be if we could get the old-school EA(Back when EA had those three different shapes representing them.

The best EA years were late 80s and early 90s imo..

IMO EA will never stop being the bastard child that it is today...

They eat devs, chew and then spit.

It would really allow more creativity in the industry if you could cap the size of companies like EA and let others develop and compete.

Ubisoft is shit, it makes perfect sense for them to join EA in producing more crap.

Ubisoft is shit, it makes perfect sense for them to join EA in producing more crap.Ubisoft is responsible for games like Rayman, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, and others. Are you going to argue that those games are all awful?

I can't think of a single non-sports game developed by Electronic Arts (not just published). Oh, wait, there's Boogie, which looks terrible to me.

Frankly I think the merging of these two companies is an inevitability, but I doubt we'll see everything uniting under the Electronic Arts banner. There are people who are fans of Ubisoft, and they won't want to see their favourite developer disappear. I expect that even of the two merge, they will keep their distinct brands and personalities.

I don't think any company can ever truly monopolize the gaming industry, I could be proven wrong, but with the rise of online distribution and the way gaming (game play)works, there's always going to be new developers and independent developers pushing new and great ideas that are tons of fun to play.

I think ubisoft is making a huge mistake considering how much the marketing and accounting departments are bloated and controlling at EA & how their employees are treated like shit.

Oh I'd love to share my experiences with Ubisoft and GRAW with you but that would take up several pages. Community/Customer support is non existent.

I concur. I own 2 Ubisoft games; 1946 and Lock On...while they are both good, the support for them blows...I think they already are EA...

Ridge, not to mention neither Il-2 Sturmovik nor Lock On were developed inhouse by Ubisoft(Atleast not to my knowledge)

And support for those game being poor isn't unusual, simulation games is such a niche genre these days that devs dont really support'em alot because they don't generate all that much revenue, trust me, I'm a huge simmer, and I've noticed this..

Ubisoft is turning into pure shit, just like EA did. Let them join.

I think you will find anything coming from Ubisoft will be console focussed. (apart from maybe Assassins Creed).

Ubisoft are a bad example of the future of PC Gaming.

True, but Ubisoft, as a publisher, let them down...especially Oleg Maddox, who got screwed big time by that Northrop lawsuit...Ubi's lawyers just chose to sit that one out...

I don`t see an insult there.I'm sorry for my subpar skills, what I meant to express in words was a serious thanks to him for not insulting me, seeing as I know that he has a strong dislike towards me and has insulted me in previous threads by me, so I just thanked him for not doing it in this.

Ubisoft is a big company and they have some similarities to EA. But I still don't see how they can quite hold a candle to the master screw-you game publisher.

I haven't liked any of Ubisoft's games lately. They stopped being good after Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

If Assassin's Creed ends up sucking, I won't care how much of Ubisoft is controlled by EA.

Ubi soft has practically remodeled themselves after EA. Their games are released in about the same state as EA's and receive the same amount of support as EA's. Not only that, IIRC Ubi even makes their employee's sign worse contracts. I think it was even EA that complained that ex-Ubi employee's are not allowed to work for a competitor for 1 year, if the are fired.

C&C Generals is the best thing EA have developed (I include C&C3 in that, that game was unfinished).
