I'm not at all surprised that there isn't already a thread on this game... so many great Japanese titles for the 360 flying under the radar right now
anyways, the DEMO is out on xbox live marketplace... just finished playing it and i must say I'm really impressed..
art style is absolutely incredible, music is great (better be considering what it's about :P ), combat is really simple and fun
game's already out in Japan and is set to be released in North America on september 17 i beleive
360's sleeper hit of 2007 methinks...
check it out:

Looks kind of like a pumped up Tales of Symphonia, although I don't know whether it's mainly the shitty voice acting making me say that. I'm sure it would be enjoyable enough, but tbh I'd never be able to play something like this unless it was in Japanese audio with subs. Voice acting really can screw up a game that badly for me (FF10, step forward).

Just got done with the demo.
It has an interesting combat system for sure, especially when compared to Blue Dragon. It also has a nice visual style.
However, if I had to choose the better of the Japanese RPG's between this and Blue Dragon, I would pick Blue Dragon for sure. This is still a great title though, and fans of any RPG should check the demo out at least!
I really can't wait, I played Blue Dragon for a few minutes and shut off my 360 in disgust. But the art style in this game really has me interested, I'm a sucker for peaceful environments and cheesy fairytale characters in RPGs.
I can't stress how horrible I thought Blue Dragon was, I just.. ugh.

Looks great but I would rather play the likes of DQ8 and FF12 again.

This looked pretty interesting when I checked it out awhile back. Some of the environments in screenshots look pretty stunning... lemme find a good example...

That's a pretty early shot, even. But, dayumn.
I'll have to check out the demo once my 360 gets back, looked a little generic from the videos I've seen, but then I'm kind of demanding when it comes to RPG combat.
Holy shit! Victorians! And knights! And... kings? And cutesy dragons? Wait... this looks a bit... weird...
And I'd definitely agree that Blue Dragon is awful. It actually feels like torture.

so i'm not the only one that thinks Blue Dragon is an overrated, over-hyped piece of...
i've played both demos and for me, Eternal Sonata takes the cake

I was more of a fan of Blue Dragon.
In Eternal Sonata, you just run up to an enemy, just bash 'A' or if you have enough stars use the special attack. It was nothing special to me and for RPG's, I like the classical turn-based approach more... Blue Dragon just seemed a lot deeper with its combat system.
Outside of the battle system in Eternal Sonata, it was great. If anything, I'll just rent this game.

The only RPGs for 360 I want are Lost Odyssey and Last Remnant.

Blue Dragon is disgustingly bad, it's a freaking embarrassing joke, it should be murdered.
Is this demo any different to the Japan one that's been out awhile?
