Awakening and canon

We all know the Awakening mod wasn't canon, but interestingly it's Steam page says Note that future official releases on the Half-Life 2 story might contradict with this mod.

The point is, someone at Valve has said that this contradicts with the future Half-Life storyline.

yes...let's hope. Contradict..as in there arn't any otehr citadels? or there are no russian submarines in HL2...OR that that's not what happened to Sheperd.

But let's not get too carried away, it might contradict as in: sheperd is in stasis and cannot come back, so if it WAS about sheperd, it might not mean his return.

yes, but it could also easily mean that future HL2 installments' stories could clash with the awakening mod, therefore giving us a small idea of what's to come.
