View Full Version : Freebird vs Stairway To Heaven

Just curious, what's this forums take on what song is better?

They are very different songs. I can relate to both songs very well and for very similar reasons.

Stairway To Heaven takes it because it's a slower song... and I hate slow songs..but I like this one. It's the only slow song I like.

Freebird does have that awesome solo and the lyrics always put me into a good mood.

Gotta agree. Although if I had to absolutely choose one... I guess it would be Stairway.

Stairway to heaven. I'd say Simple Man was even better than Freebird.

You know what? I would be overjoyed if I came on the boards tomorrow and saw that posting the word "overrated" on the music forums was a bannable offense. Seriously, argh. Your OPINION is overrated. To YOURSELF. Take that, and stuff.

Anyway, both are good, but for different reasons. I'm gonna have to go with Stairway though, as since getting Guitar Hero 2 I'm pretty much obliged to hate Freebird.

Neither, if either of them come on the radio I sit in disgust as they pass by, I've heard them enough to have gone from enjoying them to hating them

Same goes for Hotel California, Hold your Head Up, Rich Girl, Sweet Home Alabama, and All Along the Watchtower (Hendrix version)

anyway i love stairway to heaven, led zeppelin rules, and i can pretty much play the whole song but the solo. it's really epic in a lovely folk, hopeful way. get the shivers every single time the solo kicks in, it's just brilliance in music history.

For the most part that's BS. You could take your daily conversations, play them all backwards and find stuff like that to.

Between the two, Freebird.

Horrible question to ask though, they both have their qualities that make them great. Freebird has the end solo, and Stairway has practically the whole song, but I still chose Freebird because I like to just tap my foot like Direwolf said.

Freebird for its 4 minute solo. One of the best solos in my opinion.

I chose Stairway. I love the solo of Freebird, but I think Stairway is better as a whole.

Free Bird. I never saw the genius in Stairway.
