I'm just interested to know if you've heard of Black Sabbath before. Some guy on another forum said: "Poll people today and ask how many even know who the Sabbath were and what they did. You could put them in the unfortunate forgotten bin..."

They're good. Not really a metal fan though, so I've only given them a cursory listen at best.

Yeah... not saying they're the best (although I enjoy a couple of their tunes) but I'll be surprised if there are a lot of people who haven't heard of them. What was that TV show with Ozzy on it? It seems like that would have at least dragged his musical past (and this band) into recent pop culture.

To me, I reckon a lot of people base what the hardest metal is on who is the most hardcore guy or who swears the most and is noiseyest. To me hard metal is measured by the intensness of the feeling that I get when I listen to metal.

Well Black Sabbath with Ozzy is arguably the best era....(first handfull of albums). Can you remember Black Sabbath in the late 80's early 90's...*ugh*
