Well Imo now is the time to get respective cars and characters drawn up properly (spend about an hour atleast on a drawing with colour), so then we can make some orthographic templates for modellers.

No, its not at all dead. This is a community project, and it will progress kinda slow no matter what. We usually have dull/dead periods during the week when everyone had real life things going on, and we end up getting bursts of discussion and talk at the weekends, or when people have time off. We are also waiting for the engine vote poll to close, since... ya know that is important.

But yes, Concept art guys have always had a job open to them. We need to get all your ideas down on paper (virtual or not) so we can finalize our selection of karts. Then we need ortho views for modelers. These things can be done even without knowing what engine we are using, since it will all be low poly anyways.

+1 to what Krynn said. Vehicle and character concepts are important right now, and we can keep discussing design until the poll closes and we move ahead with content (I imagine we're using Source, but for rule's sake we'll still wait before going ahead).
