DESIGN AND CONCEPT: RACERS

TO DO:

Agree on 8 karts (can be single or double karts)
Unique skills for each kart, if any... keep it small
Concept art of the karts themselves


In that order.

Thus, we begin. I think 8 karts is a good number to start with, even too many. Who?

I don't think we've actually decided on a gameplay mode yet...

Can we put this on hold until we have a solid gameplay layout, even just one mode for now? One style of race, one map, and we can sort of decide what to do for racing karts while we're at it?

Check out the gameplay thread, I'm gonna post some thoughts there.

We have to have Samon as a kart. A pink salmon with wheels and a chaingun mounted in the grill with Dr. Breen or someone else driving? HELL YES. It's the spawning season straight out of Hell.

That pic made me want to make a crazy cartoony flash movie with high action kart racing, and shit. Sort of a trailer for the game I guess.

But I don't have the time! And it'd end up sucking compared to what I'm picturing.

Really this just means I think it's really nice work. GJ.

Shasta's a missile. He doesn't need wheels.

Although he does need the eyes, because... they were awesome eyes.

/My idea for Shasta as a kart was that he can't stop or reverse, but he can explode with amazing force.

I haven't played Psychonauts, could anyone describe how the music is? Otherwise I'll just invent my own style, and then we're screwed.

EDIT: Add a chainsaw to that and it's perfect D:

Best I can do is the Grim Fandango soundtrack, which was composed by the same guy. As far as I can see Doublefine are either Cease and Decisting people who host the music online, or noone wants to, i dunno.

at least we could make a low poly car model for his (low poly intentionally, not for performance) and then just use a tiny skin so that it looks pixelated

Geogaddi Gets a roflcopter. It suits him, was thinking of this while during my Math exam paper. :)

If you have to show him, He should be wearing a Russian Military outfit with the words "Goatse Bless America" on his back. Ill draw it if need.
