Trivium

No. Metalcore bands don't count.

Well obviously the big four of thrash are Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. But other bands worth noting are:

Testament
Coroner
Kreator
Exodus
Sepultura (Arise & Beneath the Remains)
Sodom
Voivod
Annihilator
Sabbat

Then there's this list for more:

Their latest album sounded pretty thrash to me; hardly any screaming, metallica-ish vocals etc.

The latest Trivium album was basically a ripoff of Metallica's self-titled. That doesn't mean it was good, though; neither are particularly interesting, for that matter.

Get yourself some Megadeth and Overkill as well. Overkill aren't as well known. Their album The Years of Decay is a thrash metal classic in my mind. Unfortunately I can't recommend too many other bands as I'm not really into thrash metal at all. You could try some earlier Death - their albums Scream Bloody Gore, Leprosy and Spiritual Healing (especially that one) might be appealing to you, as they're basically heavy thrash with screamier vocals.

Thrash?

Try Gammacide, Blood Feast, Nuclear Assault, Tankard, Artillery, Sadus, Atheist, Death Angel, Hobbs Angel of Death, Deathchain, The Crown, At the Gates, Pestilence, Exhorder, Whiplash, Infernal Majesty, Hexx, Demolition Hammer...ugh, the list goes on and on and on, but these are some of my all-time favs that haven't been mentioned yet. Enjoy!!!!!

Oh, and here's another list (http://www.bnrmetal.com/lists/genres/thrash.htm).

I dont really listen to much Thrash, but I like Municipal Waste. Are they thrash? Or are they one of those Thrash/Hardcore crossover bands?

honestly lol they gotta work on band names.."slayer" "Death Angel" wow how imaginative and lame...You fail to realise that most of these bands are all about 20 years old. Back then, they were imaginative. Still lame I suppose, but these guys had dibs on their cliche names long before anyone else.

Sorry but Metallica isn't trash metal (although their latest songs are trash LOL).
They are somewhere between heavy metal and speed

Metallica's first four albums (Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and, to an extent, ...And Justice For All) were all thrash metal. Speed... thrash, s'all the same. :P

The only kinds of metal I know of are metallica-type metal, and then dragonforce-type metal. It either all sounds like one or the other.

Oh, and death metal and black metal. I know the difference between them because of this friend I had :/
