... and it was awesome.
I got tired of waiting for Nintendo to release a drumkit application for the Wii, so I downloaded some custom bluetooth drivers and some scripts that let me connect the wiimotes to the PC and use them as drumsticks for an invisible drumkit. Literally minutes of fun.

Any music type game like drumming on the Wii would suck with the latency.
Do you get latency when connecting to a pc?
Wii Loop Machine looks really awesome too btw.

There.
Is.
No.
Latency.
Seriously, there's no detectable latency on the PC. You throw the wiimote down, and you get a beat. It's like drumming on an invisible drumkit.

Real drumset > virtual drumset.

Real drumset > virtual drumset.I agree completely, but I guess this has its benefits ... eg. they're not actually 'hitting' anything so it makes no noise, you can listen to the drums on your headphones and even have some backing music to play along to... even with old folks asleep in the next room. Try that with a real drum kit, boyo

That's far more expensive than two Wiimotes though isn't it? CHEATER!

So awesome. Wonder if Nintendo ever thought people would find cool things involving a PC and the Wiimotes.
And only minutes? It sounds like it could be hours of fun for me!

does anyone remember the game called Quest For Fame from the mid 90's? The aim was to become a guitarist for Aerosmith. The system was basically like Guitar Hero, but instead of the guitar you had an electronic guitar pick. You just waived the pick in the air in correct rhythm. I used a tennis racket though to add extra feeling, so I strummed the racket like a guitar.
