My december 2005 console has just started crashing out on me. GOD DAMN IT... it couldn't have picked a worse time - too early because I can't replace it with a Zephyr, and also just before the Forza Motorsport 2 release, which is like the only reason besides GTA4 and PGR4 that I actually want a 360 in the first place.

That's saddly true - when my 360 went tits up I had a horrible experience calling microsoft. In the end I rang up the retailer and got it exchanged no trouble. I also took up their insurance policy, which works out to be around 20p a month and lasts forever (not sure they thought it through).

Doh. My dad had stood an old decoder on top of the 360s PSU brick (its hiding round the back of the TV) ... took it off, and it's working fine again.

after reading the preview for DIRT, I can say that I'm more hyped for that than Forza, and that's saying a lot. DIRT will have completely deformable car bodies that you can smash the shit out of and it will have real effects on how the car drives. Also, by the sound of it, there will be a ton of different gameplay modes.

It's absolutely fudged now, won't even turn on. Tried to cancel my XBL subscription today, was on hold for 10 mins (with interruptions from a stupid automated indian every 10 seconds) ... and at the end, another stupid indian woman just says 'cant cancel today, xbox live is down' ...
