I'm trying to clear some space on my PC (C&C3 in a few days) and I try to uninstall C&C the First Decade but I get this error:

I go to the directory stated and there is no file called Ctor.dll, only DotNetInstaller. I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?

Uninstall the directory by selecting the folder and hitting del?

The best bet would be to remove The First Decade via the Remove/Install hardware tab in 'Control Panel'

*Shrugs Shoulders*

Speaking of Making space, I've just placed an order for a Seagate Barracuda 16MB Cache/500GB HDD and plan to reformat my old HDD to give to my sister, with a fresh new install of XP on. I just can't wonder why shes got that pile of sh*t that my Dad bought from a dodgy Computer Shop. They couldn't even slap a 200 quid PC together to save their life.

[edit]Then again, it does sound interesting that the TFD uninstaller cannot locate a particular file outside of its directory. Have you been able to unistall other stuff on your comp successfully?

Bestest way ever - delete all references in registry, then delete the folder.

It has never failed for me, and as long as you use your head, nothing will happen to your PC.

Er...what registry and what references?

Windows registry. You know, use regedit?

If I understood your problem, that is. :p

Now if I only knew what the hell regedit was...

I'm sorry, but I know how to use a computer, not how to make one work :bonce:

:P
Not everyone actually knows anything much beyond how to use a bloody computer you know.

How can you know which registry values you need to delete besides an obvious folder search? If there are still a few other registry keys left, how can you find those?

I've got regedit opened (turns out I've used it before, just didn't remember what the hell it was) but I still have no idea what to do. I can find no references to C&C or EA in it anywhere.
