If this happens that just leaves MGS4 for me. Strange though, I can't see myself playing a final fantasy game on the 360...

FF is probably the only 'exclusive' I would actually care about if it came to the 360.

MGS, DMC, etc ? Horrible games.

While I agree with you about DMC ... to say FF is a good series while MGS is bad shows that you shouldn't be making judgments about other peoples taste in games.

This would be a killer blow if true.

There's no doubt that the FF series is the PlayStations strongest card. MGS is big, but FF is BIG.

yeah run like when you find a enemy that you cant beatNah, I'm going off to level up and get a new summon.

Don't worry, I could take all day and when I come back you'd still be in some consulted conversation in MGS. :P

Not so much with casuals. Casual gamers are the biggest slice of the pie and they're more interested in sport franchise style games like Madden and Fifa.

Not many of those in Japan man...that's where this would matter most if in fact it comes to fruition (which I really don't see happening, but stranger things have happened).

Don't underestimate how obscenely massive Final Fantasy is. Casual gamers may have the biggest slice of the pie, but they also spread their cash over wide variety of games. Many 1000s of gamers all over the world wait with baited breath just to spend their cash on Final Fantasy. In Japan alone - arguably the most important market for Sony - you get queues round the block and boxes flying out by the truck load.

Someone over at NTSC made an good point - 'It's interesting that Sony actually have to discuss exclusivity now, actually negotiate it. During the later PSX and PS2 days stuff like Final Fantasy was on Sony hardware by default, it just wasn't in any question.'

I think this is a sign of things to come - not necessarily Sony losing it's important franchises, but the increase in multiplatform releases in general.

I'm a little skeptical whether FF13 will arrive on the 360, though, and have no doubt Sony will do whatever they can to keep the series - it's their 'Halo'. Take away FF and the only big named system seller the PS3 has left is MGS.

It's not THAT big of a problem in Japan, though, since X360 sales there are utterly abysmal.

perhaps 360 sales arent' that great, but if they do what they did with Blue Dragon.... bundle the game with the console...

IIRC, I read somewhere that the Xbox 360 + Blue Dragon bundles actually sold out in Japan... perhaps it was the wiki Xbox 360 article...
