hope someone can help bought this game of ebay when i try to install it i get to the part where i have to enter my cd key when i do this it says this key has already been registered does this mean i have wasted my money sorry quite new to computers would appreciate any help thanks

Basically yes. While you thought it'd be easier and cheaper to buy your game second hand, what you didn't know was that once you put in your CD key, it's tied to a certain account. The previous owner obviously did this.

ya dude,thats the only flaw with most steam games bought second hand. you know what you can do though...contact steam and they will reset the key so your able to put it on your account :D so all is well as long as you are able to scan the cd key to them

Just return the game to the original owner if possible and ask your money back.

Oh, sorry, i'm used to writing stuff like that (when Shasta isn't first) in any thread that has to do with CD-keys.

As Valve say...buy new. From Steam directly or a retail outlet. Check the prices on Steam, you'll be pleasently surprised. Oh and be more careful with buying things online in the future, considering you are new to computers and all. (Ebay especially...)
