I got it at a street vendor, for only $7 for the Game of the year edition. :D

At first, this game was kinda boring. And then I got the hang of it, and I'm currently stuck at the level where you are lost in a forest, and your radio doesn't work. I tried it multiple times, but evading about 5 fire teams of russians is kinda hard, and theres that gunship, and BMPs.

Anyway, it's really fun, killing soviet scum, mwhahahahah. :D

After Montignac? It's counter intuitive, you head away from the direction of the evac zone and go to the small village. There's 2 BMP1s so be stealthy. In the village grab a civilian car not the UAZ and then take the most round about road to the evac zone by road - it's mostly deserted and the Hind shouldn't bother you too much.

Spoiler alert

Don't go too fast - I actually made it to the evac zone in time but it was crawling with Russians, several minutes before the radio message actually announces that. Once you are near the town, stop and wait for the new evac point to be announced and then head into the forest.

Huge spoiler

You get captured anyway lol

Just the way I did it skeletor xD, not like my first time, when i literally shot my way there.

[SPOILER]
But yeah the evac site gets overun, the ruskies capture you, the EFA (resistance) rescue you and you start working with them.

Heh, the first time, I had to blow up 2 BMPs, kill an entire squad of russians, get in a tractor, and then be blown up by the gunship.

hell yeah it's alot of fun on that mission, trying to fight your way through - I kept running out of ammo and hiding in the bushes watching the Hind try to find me. I never got further than the first road, when fighting my way there, it's very very tough

I did run into too much trouble actually, i just had to deal with forest patrols and a few partols around the hills, the BMPS kept tailing me though so i had stick to the forests as much as possible, i tried shooting the hind out of the sky at one point with a stolen RPG, but failed.

brilliant mission, one of the most intense experiences in gaming for me. i think i spent over 4-5 hours on it, most of the part being shit scared and crawling through woods and hiding in bushes.

Aye, when I first played it, when you talk about game immersion, never felt so alone and lost in a game before, when you find out your radio is busted, your squad has been killed and the US are immediately pulling off the island in waves. Its just the biggest feeling of 'oh shit' ever. Tempted to the game again lol

That reminds me that I never did finish Red Hammer. It bothered me alot that some of the missions were uber realistic where you took a town but retreated when T80s appeared or were on reconnaissance where you had to engage an enemy patrol but then later you turned into rambo in some others. Brilliant game, shame the multiplayer is a bit of a farce.

I beat After Montignac on my second try. I don't know why most people have so much trouble with it, I just crawled my way through.

I remember getting really far with Red Hammer, but the later missions just got solid (as usual). The most satisfying mission I did was on the Resistance campaignes, where you have a few tanks against a massive amoured collumn of Russian tanks. You cant engage head on or you will be crushed, so I positioned them in a line, in a little ditch, with the turrets facing the hill to which they drive past and my god, it was like a turkey shoot, seeing the tank turrets fire each after the other, hear their tank shells either hit the ground in front or whiz over us. Twas bril

one of my favourites is when you play as the pilot after your A10 is downed - I broke out and jumped in the pilots seat of the Hind with a Soviet gunner who preceded to obey my targeting of his own tanks and soldiers! Best game exploit ever!

That's a great conscientious objector excuse - 'I kept dying in Operation Flashpoint so there's no point in sending me to war'

is not that I am untactical it was cuz especially didnt know much english so wasnt sure what to do, I just followed the comander and shoot everyone that looked like a russian but once the enemy found me I was doomed

I could complete some missions but sucked badly

for example in a mission where I needed to fly a A10 when I arrived at the enemy base I instanly crashed

I haven't found a good mod for it yet tbh - I got FFUR in high hope only to find it was a huge skin job, no new campaign or island.

There is meant to be an Operation Flashpoint 2 coming out sometime this year, under a different name I think. Basically the same concepts as the orginals but better graphics and an undated engine obviously

Such a damn good series of games, bought Resistance again a few weeks back, still got such good replay value. Nothing beats playing good co-op missions with a group of serious players either, love this game!

I can't finish Resistance - I ctd every time when the mission attempts to progress after I ambush the 2 armoured convoys fairly early in the game :(

Stuff like that was fairly common with the release version of Resistance, happened to me too!

Have you patched to version 1.96? It's the last patch BIS ever released for any of the OFP campaigns and it did solve a number of bugs/crashes.

I like it at first but I ended up in a level where you had to run for about 10 minutes and then you find yourself ambushed. I died, started again and got past that ambush, only to run for another five minutes into another ambush. I never played the game again.

you must be doing something wrong numbers, it's quite easy unless you take the direct rambo approach
Head away from the direction of the evac zone, sneak into the village, grab one of the prettier lada-alikes, check your map, take the almost totally deserted road to the evac zone, stop just before the city, kill two lone soldiers, wait for the new evac zone to be announced, head into the forest and let the cutscene do the rest.

Hah yeah 'After Montignac' was hard I still remember the first time I played it, driving in the convoy then going "oh crap" when I heard the message. Running through the huge forest and getting shot at by tanks. Lol. It was great...operation flashpoint is just great

I just re-installed Flashpoint Gold edition that doesn't even come with Resistance, and it keeps crashing after about 5 minutes in-game. I can alt-tab but the game won't disappear from the screen.

Anyone know what patches I need for the Gold version?

#1. Sneaking in fails. Every time. I have to kill the BMP and 2 fire teams of russians.

#2. I get in the car, go down the road, and the heli gets me.

#3. I don't take the road, some patrol gets me with their machine guns.

You need to drive the intersection and take the longest road round, there you'll only find small 2-men patrols and you can just go through the forest and arrive behind the evac site.
