Some of you may think that the EU is all good and... whatever you call it. Some may even think that its emergence as a world superpower would be a very good thing. However, the European Union is a threat to the stability of this great planet, and to all mankind.

Let us begin with Scenario A. The EU is just like the UN, weak and for the most part, powerless. Very good. It can do no harm, with its state of helplessness. What evil can come from such a weak organization? You need power to be evil, it's like a frigging fuel for evilness. And unity is the spark that blows up the gas station.

Scenario B: The EU is a world superpower. Hell no. We have enough superpowers on this planet already, thank you very much. What with China and Russia, and possibly India having nukes and trying to engage the world and destroy all that we have worked so hard to accomplish. We don't want another snobby world power (although it may be a bit hypocritical, I'd love it if my country was.) trying to run things their own way. And inevitably, superpowers will collide against one another, throwing the world into a war, then a state of anarchy, chaos, doom and destruction, and emos ruling the world.

Scneario C: The EU pushes the US out of being THE world superpower, and takes its place. Hell ****ing no. At least with the US, you know what you're up against. Besides, if the EU becomes the world superpower, then what shall happen to eastasia? The EU would be too unified for all of humanity's sake. (Not counting europeans. Most europeans. Err, Some Europeans.)

The world should not be unified, but rather divided, into smaller factions, lest it cause a world war. The European Union will provide unity, and with unity, the qualities of division disappear. And those qualities would be more smaller wars and no world wars, and um... no ethnical and cultural identities shall disappear and stuff. The world shall plunge down into Orwellian Totalitarianism and... well maybe not, but still, unity in terms of international relations = bad.

You know the difference between the EU as a super, and china/russia/USA as super powers? Were open to new members. Other countries join most years. Now, I admit, other countries can only join if it benefits us, strengthens our economy, but at least its possible. Lets see you join the USA. Name one war the EU has ever started. Name one war that took place between 2 EU members since its inception.

Who says it has no power? Military power isn't that weak, just weaker and not unified as of US. But as for economic power, European Union has a stronger economy than that of US, though the difference isn't that large (just a trillion or two more :cheese: )

First of all, no sane country ever since WW2 wanted a military war, especially nuclear. Why would Russia or China nuke another country, if it will lead to destruction of themselves aswell, including their economy?
And secondly, we only have 1 country that fully suits the superpower standards, others are just emerging. But i am almost certain no other country but Russia or EU will really become a superpower.

Only one thing this world proved to respect : two rival but self fearing superpowers.
The worst thing that can be is to have one dominating supowerpower, like the US was before the invasion to Iraq. In times when Soviet Union was still in one piece, there was nothing simmiliar to that, everyone was kept in check as someone said. Vietnam was nothing compared to what happens now - US bombs every weak country it wants to without any consequence (Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and others). If you ask me, it's gotten way too far, like a spoiled brat with no spanking. :D
And Europe had enough wars through it's existence, ask any self respecting citizen of it. You'll get the same answer.

It can't unify itself, and it's supposed to unify the world? Don't forget it's a European Union. No other country that doesn't belong to Europe is allowed to enter (example with Moroco).

I don't like a few things on the EU but in general i think it is a good thing. 100 years ago it would have been impossible to even think of that countrys like france, germany, poland, italy, england etc. all life peacefull under one roof and work together. Actualy the EU is a huge peace factor.
