Hello All

First time playing HL,i'm at a point int the game that i'm giong into an elevator to go up to another floor(killed all troops)in this warehouse setting, i get into the elevator, it starts up,get a "loading" message, and i die!!!!!!!!.

There does not seem to be anything above that should stop/kill me, game worked/loaded fine till this point.

Are you talking about Hl1 or 2? It sounds like 1. Either way, try loading from an earlier save and get to that point with more health. Alternativly you may be experiencing the infamous elevator glitch, when using elevators try to stay in the centre and constantly jump.

Download Steam at www.steampowered.com. When you're done installing it, report back.

Got Steam, ok on the keycodes, still cannot log into ftp server for patch, (IE).

Don't you patch it through Steam?If he installed from a cd, I don't know if that will work. I have the Platinum Edition of HL1. While I can enter and it'll accept my CD key and list all of the Platinum games I have installed, it won't update them. It'll let me download any game included with my CD key but no updates. :(

yes it will download the most current version of hl on to your system.

hello again;

having one hell of a time, game is cool,just restored power(scientist on top of generator), cannot find way out/back to blast pit.

where are the walkthrough's????????????

dont be so mean man. also i believe you have to go into a room with a very large fan below you and it will push you up where you will break through some boards. i haven't played hl1 in alot.

If they aren't, COMPLLAAAAIIIN!!!!Like giant said, they are, but if it's already installed from the cd. What's the point of downloading the entire thing? I wonder why they can't update Steam to recognize earlier installs of HL1+packs.

But I don't play CS or anything and haven't had a problem with HL1, so I'm not bothered too much.
